about me
“Welcome! My name is Sophie Gonsoulin. I am a licensed clinical social worker from Houston, TX but relocated to the Dallas area after completing a major goal of hiking the Appalachian trail from Georgia to Maine. My undergraduate degree is from the University of North Texas in Sociology with a minor in psychology. I am a graduate of the University of Houston where I received my MSW and have since worked with individuals and families addressing anxiety, depression, relationship strain, emotional regulation, self-esteem, as well as, domestic and narcissistic abuse. I hold a clinical license to practice counseling independently in the state of Texas. I also work with teens and find ease in building rapport with young adults, especially those who may feel anxious about seeking support for their mental health for the first time.
I believe that a two of the biggest determining factors of effectiveness in counseling is the relationship you have with your therapist and the effort you put in.
I hold a person-centered, inclusive, and trauma informed approach to counseling. I believe that you are the expert in your own life and will provide a safe environment for you to explore your thoughts and feelings. My goal is to support you without judgment so that you are seen, heard and valued.
Together we can work towards more clarity, balance and healing.”
